10:45 - 11:15 - 'A Model-Based Approach for Mission Critical Infrastructure' - Ajit Rai, Assystem

Overview: This presentation will discuss the approach of Model-Based RAMS that aims to integrate the standard RAMS approach with the Model-Based System Engineering for design and analysis of complex systems. It will highlight the challenges and the benefits of this approach during the entire life cycle of complex systems.

11:20 - 11:50 - 'Widening the Scope of Risk Assessment and Management' - Shahen Poghosyan, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

Overview: This talk will discuss IAEA activities in the area of risk assessment and risk-informed decision making. In particular, the presentation will elaborate on the current IAEA activities, such as risk assessment in multi-unit and multi-source context, PSA for SMRs, and use of PSA insights for security purposes.

10:05 - 10:35 - ‘Safety for Fusion’ - Dr. Lavinia Raganelli, Consultant, CRA

Overview: This presentation will discuss the challenges and opportunities when developing risk models and safety cases for nuclear fusion technology.

Dr. Raganelli will share examples from CRA’s projects including: producing the Reliability Availability Maintainability and Inspectability (RAMI) analysis for the test blanket system at ITER and supporting the seismic safety design for the Remote Maintenance equipment for DEMO.
