Probabilistic Safety Analysis Training

For over 10 years CRA has been delivering bespoke Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA) training courses tailored to our clients’ needs.  Our blend of engaging material, interactive style and realistic exercises has proven so popular that we have created our own new PSA course; combining the best aspects of these courses with the latest, international standards and best practices. The course covers the fundamentals of quantitative risk analysis coupled with a mixture of teaching and exercises that can be applied to risk analysis packages such as RiskSpectrum, Fault Tree plus/Reliability Workbench, CAFTA, RiskMan, etc.

What Will I Learn?

CRA’s internationally recognised experts will deliver training covering topics such as:

  • Input Data – commonly used sources, how to select suitable data, how to calculate and update data when needed.
  • Fault Tree Analysis – beginning with failure modes and effects analysis and looking at how they can be used to determine fault tree content and structure, Boolean Logic Gates and advice on how to build user friendly fault trees.
  • Accident Sequence Analysis – how to construct event trees, derivation of success criteria and sequence analysis
  • Human Reliability Analysis – identifying, understanding and quantifying human errors including an introduction to the Human Error Assessment and Reduction Technique (HEART) & Technique for Human Error Rate Prediction (THERP) methods and how to interpret their outputs

This topical learning will be further supplemented  via the sharing of realistic scenario based examples to help attendees understand how the techniques can identify and solve problems in their respective industries.
